| CPAG:
Hutton right to make enforcement top priority of CSA review
23.11.05
Responding to
John Hutton’s comments about the Child Support Agency (CSA) at the
Work & Pensions select committee this morning, Kate Green, Chief
Executive of the Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG), said:
“John Hutton
is right to make enforcement a top priority of the CSA review.
Hundreds of thousands of families continue to go without because
they are not getting the maintenance money they are entitled to.
“CPAG are
also pleased that Mr Hutton recognised the urgent need, as part
of his review, to deal with the huge backlog of cases in the system.
“Until the
CSA – or whatever it is replaced with – begins to deliver for
parents and their children, the Government’s targets to end child
poverty will be seriously undermined.”
