Ask CPAG Online - How should you present your case at an appeal hearing?
It is always best to request an oral hearing of your appeal, and if possible, take a representative with you. See ‘How do you dispute a PIP disability decision?’ for details of the procedure at oral hearings. Your written submission should act as your ‘anchor’ to which you can refer and return to during the hearing to present your case, but you will also be asked questions about your condition and how it affects you and what you can and cannot do. Your answers constitute direct evidence and clearly need to support your case as set out in your written submission.
