Benefits for EEA Nationals - advanced
This one-day experienced level course looks in detail at the social security rights of EEA nationals and their family members in the UK. It provides an opportunity for advisers who are familiar with some of the more commonly occurring scenarios to focus on specific complex areas and recent developments.
Please note the content of this course will be determined by the ways in which the benefit rights of EEA nationals are affected during 2019. Please check the CPAG website for updated information closer to the date of the course.
At the time of writing it is expected this course will cover:
- The main ways in which the EU co-ordination rules can affect the benefit entitlements of claimants in the UK
- Who does, and who does not, have to be present in Great Britain for two years to get disability and carer's benefits
- Recent developments in, and more complex arguments on, residence rights of EEA nationals and their families
This course is aimed at those who advise European nationals on their benefit entitlement regularly and help with challenging decisions.
Those with less experience should book instead on the standard level course Benefits for EEA nationals.
If you also advise non-European nationals you should also book on the course Benefits for Non-EEA nationals.
