Bookings now open for our ANNUAL CONFERENCE: WELFARE RIGHTS 2015
On Friday 12 June we are holding our annual conference for welfare rights and other advisers in Scotland, at the Scottish Youth Theatre in Glasgow.
With key areas of social security set to be devolved to the Scottish Parliament following the Smith Commission’s recommendations, this year’s conference will provide delegates with an important opportunity to get the latest details on what exactly is being proposed, understand the implications for different client groups and share ideas on how new powers might be used to improve benefit support and tackle poverty more effectively.
In the meantime universal credit and personal independence payment continue to be rolled out across the country, whilst ESA rules and the rights of European migrants both continue to cause difficulties for advisers and claimants alike. The conference will give delegates a chance to catch up with all the latest developments and help ensure that advisers continue to be able to support people to get the financial support they are entitled to in a fast changing policy landscape.
We are running the following workshops:
- Disability benefits in Scotland – the state of play and how devolved powers should be used
- ESA: new developments
- The Gateway and the Lobster Pot – who can claim universal credit?
- Kinship carers and local authorities – preparing for universal credit
- Out of work and from Europe – residence rights roundup
- Universal credit – using devolved powers
We will have an exhibition space hosting exhibitors showcasing their work, products and services.
The cost per delegate is £140. To book a delegate place or an exhibition stand please complete our online booking form.
