The local welfare assistance scheme for the City of Bradford is the Assisted Purchase Scheme.1 The Scheme provides essential household items such as beds, cookers and fridges.

We may be able to help you to buy certain essential household items that you need, although you will need to pay for these items yourself. ...We no longer give cash awards for emergency situations. If you are in an emergency situation you should contact a local advice centre who can provide advice on benefits, housing and debt.

How to apply

You can only apply online. You can access the internet for free at local libraries, etc, to apply or ask questions through the Assisted Purchase Scheme General Enquiry webpage.
