The local welfare assistance scheme for Slough is called Local Welfare Provision. It aims to:
- prevent serious risk to health, wellbeing or safety
- provide essential support in the event of an emergency
- help people to be part of the community.
A Local Welfare Provision award will normally be a one off payment, normally in goods or services, as a short term fix to prevent a long term problem.
For more information see the Slough Borough Council website, which includes links to the scheme policy and a leaflet about the scheme. You can download the Local Welfare Provision decision maker's guide, which was provided to CPAG in 2014, from the link on the right hand side of this page.
