Child Poverty Action Group wins award
25.01.07 Child Poverty Action Group has been given the ‘Outstanding contribution from a non-academic organisation’ award at the annual awards ceremony of the Social Policy Association.
Journalist Polly Toynbee, who presented the award, paid tribute to CPAG’s contribution over many years to the development of social policy that addresses poverty in Britain.
CPAG’s Chief Executive, Kate Green, who accepted the award on behalf of the organisation, said:
“We are delighted to receive this award from the Social Policy Association. It is a tribute to the many people who have worked for, or with, CPAG to develop and promote clear and effective policy that brings closer the eradication of child poverty. It is a recognition too of the importance of improving the lives of the 1 in 3 British children living below the poverty line today.”
