Children’s charity backs damning report into ‘failing’
CSA
30.06.06 A leading children’s charity
today backed the conclusions of a damning National Audit Office
report into the Child Support Agency (CSA).
The Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) said the Agency had failed
to deliver for the poorest children.
CPAG’s Chief Executive Kate Green said:
“The CSA has failed in the task it was set up to achieve,
namely delivering support for children. This failure has caused
hardship and distress for many of the poorest families, with too
many parents still not getting maintenance payments for their
children.
“There is no magic bullet solution to the CSA’s problems,
but we hope that the Henshaw review next month will recommend
a way forward with a system that starts to deliver for those in
greatest need.”
