Tax Credits Project in Scotland

This project aims to contribute to a reduction in the number of families living in poverty by maximizing the potential income available to them through the tax credit system.

The objective of the project is to increase the capacity of front line agencies to provide accurate, high quality and effective advice and information on tax credits to eligible claimants, particularly lone parents and those on low incomes. This is being achieved by providing training, factsheets, a monthly tax credits e-bulletin and running an advice line.

Training

We run a range of tax credits courses for workers of different levels of experience and knowledge.

Half-day basic courses for frontline workers who do not specialise in welfare rights but need to ensure their clients are not losing out financially. These courses are at the special price of £25 per person for organisations in Scotland. We also provide these courses in-house for organisations in Scotland for £150 in total for up to 20 people at your workplace or a venue which suits you.

Standard courses – for those with a working knowledge, or want to update their skills:
